Sara Sanson, LIMHP, LCSW

Hi, I’m Sara. I’m a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and for the past 15 years I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside kids, teens, young adults, and families through life’s complex and meaningful seasons. I believe that even during challenging times, it’s possible to find steadiness, build resilience, and reconnect with joy. My goal is to help individuals and families feel more grounded, supported, and confident as they move forward together.

I’m especially passionate about empowering neurodivergent youth, including those with ADHD and autism, to thrive not just cope. Trauma-informed care is a cornerstone of my work, and I have years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families healing from deep emotional wounds. I draw from a diverse, integrative clinical toolkit including EMDR, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, Circle of Security, and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), allowing therapy to be thoughtfully tailored to each person’s nervous system, strengths, and goals.

I also specialize in supporting youth athletes and creatives who experience high levels of pressure and expectation. Using EMDR, DBT, and ACT skills, I help high-performers build mental toughness, emotional flexibility, and resilience skills that support success not only in sport or art, but in life. My recent training through Dr. Stacy Sims’ Next Gen Course allows me to incorporate a nuanced understanding of how menstrual cycles, nutrition, and physical and mental training intersect to influence performance and well-being.

Beyond individual therapy, I’m passionate about education and collaboration. I offer presentations and trainings for teams, schools, and up-and-coming professionals, as well as consultation for individual coaches who want to better support the mental health, nervous systems, and performance of their athletes. I also provide clinical supervision for therapists seeking thoughtful guidance and growth.

When I’m not in session, you’ll often find me baking, lifting weights, working on my golf game, or enjoying lake time with the people I love. My approach centers on creating a warm, judgment-free space where genuine healing can unfold and meaningful connections can deepen.

If you’re ready to build resilience, strengthen skills, and move forward with greater ease, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
